Widex UNIQUE hearing aid reviews
The WIDEX UNIQUE hearing aid pushes back the barriers of what you can hear with a hearing aid. Louder and softer sounds. More conversation. In fact, all the important sound details around you.

UNIQUE440 user Huon says that “My UNIQUE440s deliver exactly what Widex says they do. Wind reduction is truly amazing and the reduction in background noise remarkable even in dead quiet as well as noise.”

Huon isn’t the only one who’s impressed. Deanna in the United States says, “I can’t believe how much better I am hearing now with the UNIQUE! I’m getting full access to sounds that I didn’t even know I could hear!”

Martin in the UK had similar praise:

The Widex UNIQUE is indeed a massive advance on my old hearing aids and the wind noise reduction element works a treat, and thanks to the custom made ear moulds they’re very comfortable, even to wear all day. The way that they keep analysing the sounds around you and keep changing to give you the best listening experience possible is amazing and doesn’t cause any issues. The functions that you programmed into them all work well.

Widex DREAM hearing aid reviews
Widex DREAM is known for its powerful sound and great design, DREAM has received great praise from both hearing care professionals and hearing aid users.

Here’s what Neels in South Africa has to say about DREAM:

“I was very concerned about the “look” of wearing a hearing aid. But people don’t always notice it as the model I chose (DREAM110) is very discreet…  It made a real difference. I started putting everything at a softer volume and people also mentioned I’m not that “loud” anymore. I can clearly hear conversations.”

Musician Tony Laviola has similar praise for DREAM. According to Tony:

“With other hearing aids, whenever I heard music anywhere I’d jump to find the remote so I could quickly switch to the music program which had no anti-feedback. With the DREAM 440’s even the speech program can be used for listening to music with very acceptable results. I am still working with my audiologist to find the best music program for me but there’s no rush. The programs I have are all acceptable.

Even though there’s room for a bit of improvement in the physical sound, these DREAMs produce the most natural sounds I’ve heard in hearing aids. They can cope with normal stage volume without distortion! That’s why I’m keeping these.”

And it isn’t just hearing aid users who praise DREAM. Chris and Discount Hearing Connection also has great things to say about DREAM FASHION, the newest behind-the-ear hearing aid (BTE). Here’s a video of his review:

Widex CROS and BiCROS hearing aid reviews
CROS is a new hearing aid system from Widex for people with single-sided deafness. WIDEX CROS hearing aids wirelessly transmit sound from the deaf ear to the better ear via a transmitter, which is placed behind the deaf ear. The transmitter picks up sound and wirelessly transmits it to a receiving hearing aid on the normal-hearing ear. The solution is discreet and requires a non-invasive fitting procedure.

Thomas is one of Widex’ newest CROS users. He has had hearing loss since he was 7 years old and is completely deaf in his left ear. To help this Single Sided Deafness, Thomas’ audiologist suggested a WIDEX BiCROS solution. As you can see in the video above, it didn’t take long for Thomas to adjust to his new hearing aids. After a few weeks with the BiCROS solution, Thomas says he loves the ability to hear sounds from all sides.

Here’s what Thomas says he likes about his new hearing aids:

“I love that I can actually hear and it’s so cool that my brain hears the sounds from my deaf side. It is so much easier to hear people talking now especially at the mall or in a group of people. I love that I can hear more words in songs that I didn’t hear before. I can hear TV now so much better. I don’t actually NEED the closed captioning now!”

It was love at first sound for Thomas. Here’s a video of his first reaction to Widex hearing aids:

Similar praise comes from Melvin. With a significant hearing loss on his right ear, Melvin suffers from Single Sided Deafness, and up until now, hearing aids made everything sound “garbled” to him. Fortunately, the WIDEX CROS hearing aids proved to be a perfect solution to his problems.

“Now I can really hear very plainly what is happening on the right side,” he says. “I appreciate how well it is working at this point by solving the problem of being able to converse with my wife.”

Here’s more from Melvin:
Widex CLEAR hearing aid reviews
Widex CLEAR hearing aids can communicate wirelessly with each other - just like two ears do. This means that all the functions in your hearing aids are adjusted instantly depending on your listening environment. So even when you’re going from soft sounds to louder sounds, you can hear clearly.

It’s a difference that our hearing aid users have noticed. Organist Caren Yessel says her CLEAR hearing aids have given her “harmony.”

“It has been an interesting journey for me,” she says. “It’s like a whole world opened up for me. Hearing aids make a huge difference.”

Caren says CLEAR especially helped her to hear music. Organists choose registrations when they play to make the music come together – and Caren’s choices changed quite dramatically. Before hearing aids, she had to tone down the higher pitches to compensate for her hearing loss. She also realized she was playing too loud.

With hearing aids, Caren says that “suddenly the king of instruments came into balance.”

The tables turned at home as well. Caren now speaks softer because she hears her own voice better.

“And now my friends are the ones asking me to repeat,” she says. “Sometimes I think they need hearing tests.”

Four-year-old Sadie also experienced great things from Widex CLEAR hearing aids. Sadie’s an energetic 4-year-old who according to her mom is “truly like any other hearing child.” Sadie’s Mom, Sara, told us about how Sadie’s CLEAR440 hearing aids help her to enjoy all the sounds around her.

“She speaks well (I actually can’t get her to stop talking!), she hears well, and she consistently scores above average on all of her speech/listening tests. Sadie is truly like any other hearing child. I can’t tell you how many people comment on the fact that they forget she even wears aids because she speaks so well,” says Sara.

Widex BABY440 hearing aid reviews
Sadie was previously a WIDEX BABY440 user, and has worn hearing aids since she was 6-weeks old. WIDEX BABY is the only hearing aid designed specifically for babies. It’s incredibly small and comfortable to wear so your baby will hardly notice it. It’s light so they can wear it for longer periods of time. It’s designed using strong and tough materials so it can withstand heavy use.

According to her mom, BABY440 offered Sadie just what she needed:

“Sadie went through 2 other sets of aids before we found the Widex BABY 440s, which were the best aids ever. They fit great, they stayed on, no feedback, she could hear well, they were easy to use. I just loved them!” she says.

Little Owen also benefited from BABY440. His mother says she saw a difference in Owen the day he started wearing his hearing aids:

“The biggest change was when we left the office and got into my husband’s truck. As soon as he started that engine, Owen’s eyes opened wide and glowed. He turned his head around and tried to distinguish where that noise was coming from. I just started crying! We took the highway home and with every truck that passed he would find a way to turn his head and investigate this newfound noise. It was like a miracle!” she says.
Widex invisible-in-canal hearing aid (IIC) reviews
Unlike other hearing aids, Widex invisible-in-canal hearing aids have no joined parts and therefore no hard edges - adding extra comfort for hearing aid users.

Outstanding features of the IIC include:

  • Perfect fit: each IIC hearing aid is custom made to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Better localization: tight fit means users can better determine where sounds are coming from
  • All-purpose use: can be worn in all listening situations
  • Durability: all components are contained in one unit making it extremely durable
Actress Nicola Alexis needed these features for her job in front of the camera. For her, Widex IIC hearing aids were a way to let her hear well without others knowing she had a little help in doing so.

“These are definitely the ones for me. I find them extremely user-friendly. I often forget that I’m wearing them – so comfort gets top marks.”
Widex DEX assistive listening device reviews
With the DEX™ assistive listening devices from Widex it becomes easy for you to communicate with your phone, TV, cell phone, and hearing aid remote control. Hearing aid users praise DEX devices for helping them hear their relatives on the phone or music on their mobile devices.

COM-DEX is our newest innovation for cell phone use. COM-DEX is a stylish, hands-free communication device that streams high-quality sound to your hearing aids from your smartphone. It hangs around your neck and connects wirelessly to your hearing aids to make for a truly hands-free solution. And you can also stream music and more, quickly and instantly.

Martin from the UK says that COM-DEX “connects to my mobile phone via Bluetooth, meaning I can make and receive calls hands free with the audio streamed to my hearing aids. There is an app available for COM DEX, both for iPhone and android. This enables you to make adjustments to various functions of your hearing aids including volume and programmes. I have downloaded it and now use my iPhone to control my hearing aids.”

Deanna in the US also enjoys using COM-DEX. According to her, “The COM-DEX is the best accessory I’ve ever had- the steaming quality is awesome!”

UNI-DEX, one of the newest products in the DEX family, can make hearing aids stream sound from your phone wirelessly. It’s a plug–and-play solution for cell phone use. The built-in microphone also allows you to talk hands-free when using a mobile phone or when using Skype via PC or tablet. You can also use the UNI-DEX with your personal audio device.

CROS user Thomas is also one of our newest UNI-DEX users. According to his Mom, UNI-DEX helps Thomas “come out of his shell.”

“He is interacting more with people and it’s very clear he’s a part of conversations now instead of standing back and not participating. Widex has changed our lives!” she says.

Here’s a video of Thomas’ first reaction to UNI-DEX:

Johnny Hansen says that PHONE-DEX helped him to reconnect with his father-in-law. Previously his father-in-law didn’t even want to answer the phone, fearing he wouldn’t hear the person on the end of the line. But from first use, PHONE-DEX was the solution for him. According to Johnny:

“He indicated that the phone was working perfectly and that my wife’s voice sounded as if she was right beside him. My wife then told him she was calling from Dublin, which only made the PHONE-DEX even more convincing in his view. Today my father-in-law is using the phone on a daily basis, calling everyone - especially his brother - something he hasn’t done for many years. So let this serve as a small success story for any of you who are grappling with the PHONE-DEX.”
