Widex wins Danish Entrepreneur of the Year 2009 award

Widex has won the prestigious Danish Entrepreneur of the Year 2009 prize. The award ceremony took place on November 19th at the Bella Centre in Copenhagen, with around 700 participants from all over the country. In addition to this award, Widex also won the ‘Globalization’ category of as the most successful Danish growth business abroad. As the Danish national winner, Widex will be participating in Ernst & Young’s World Entrepreneur of the Year, taking place in Monaco in May 2010.

As winner of the Entrepreneur Of The Year 2009 award, tribute was paid to Widex not only because of its successful financial results in a time of financial and economic crisis, but also because of our approach to core values such as management, employee relations and a willingness to assume an active role as a socially responsible company.

Christian Frigast, the chairman of the Entrepreneur of the Year jury, and managing director of the Danish capital fund Acxel, said that the jury placed great importance on the positive impression given by the company both externally and among stakeholders.
